In the Serra da Estrela Mountains, this Manteigas hotel offers guest rooms with balconies overlooking forest landscapes of Serra da Estrela . Very welcoming hosts. Although the room wasn’t huge the balcony was, which made storing our suitcases easy as the weather was fine. The swimming pool looked very inviting. The restaurant was excellent for dinner and for the included breakfast. There is also a comfortable guest lounge.

Location: Out of the historical center, but within walking distance (5-10 min), good access by car and short distance to points of interest and restaurants in the town. I recommend Zê do Sporting restaurant (be careful when ordering, a single meal is more than enough for two). Hotel: has its own style, interesting design focused on function. You have access to a gym (didn’t use), wet and dry sauna (used) and a swimming pool nearby (didn’t use). There is an open kitchenette where you can prepare your own tea or coffee or a simple meal. Room: large and functional, comfortable place for two bags; electric sockets: numerous and easily accessible, also near the bed. Bed: large and comfortable. Bathroom: middle in size, very functional, large space to put you toiletries near the washing basin and the bathtub. Breakfast: very good for all styles: French (different sweets and jams), German (ham and cheese), English (scrambled eggs, bacon and mushroom). Very good fresh bread. WiFi: good. Staff: nice and helpful. Parking: there are 5 parking places at the front door, a convenient option to unload your bags. There is also a large parking behind the hotel with access from 7th floor (yes, it’s the ground level on the back). To access the parking you must climb the stairs or drive about 700m following the signs for bombeiros (fire station), after U-turn, turn left to a dead-end road. There are few steep steps to enter the hotel.

The venue is amazing, on top of the mountain with a nice view on the Seia valley. The hotel is super modern and design oriented (with a scandivian touch). The staff was absolutely professional, gentle and available for all requests. The garden with swimming pool (2) was absolutely stunning and the Spa very nice and clean.

Top notch where nothing is too much trouble. Everyone has a smile and the overall vibe is delightful. There was an issue with WiFi in my room and it was responded to quickly and effectively. Food. Absolutely wonderful. The dinner menu at 40 Euros is a bargain... apertif, amuse boche, breads, starter, soup, main, dessert, and coffee. The food is well prepared and the portions are ample. I note the size of portions is much better than a previous stay seven years ago. Room. I stayed in the suite and love its ambience. Snacks. From 4 PM to 6 PM there is a selection of snacks... sweet and savory. They are diverse and change every day.

A magical place with the family history that is around on the walls through pictures and family tools. The house housed a museum containing antique items that have been useful for the past 200 years. The hospitality was warm and generous and the generous breakfast with the beautiful dishes was a celebration.
