First, just the design of the hotel is fantastic, you feel like in a place for explorers (and their families). Walking through corridors and discovering hidden passages is already an adventure. The attic with a glass roof and nice sitting area is a great place to relax. Second, the staff is super friendly and helpful. They will help you arrange your trips if you have not done so in advance. They also serve complimentary hot chocolate, tea and coffee any time of the day (next to the reception). Breakfast is really nice and will keep your energy up for quite some hours. Location is very convenient, just in the middle of the village, and you have an inside passage to the a great restaurant KROA. The supermarket (the only one in the town) is just few steps away. The place overall has a very nice atmosphere. I wish I could stay there longer.

Set in the Skjæringa area of Longyearbyen, Mary-Ann's Polarrigg is built with old rigs. Central Longyearbyen is between 6-8 minutes walk away and the airport bus stops right in front of the hotel. Wonderful atmosphere, facilities and very helpful staff! The shared space/living room is unbelievably cozy and create a very Nordic/winter/hygge experience. Such a good value for the money! Great location with walking distance to everything in the town.

Hotelul Radisson Blu Polar este cel mai nordic hotel cu servicii complete din lume, situat în Longyearbyen. Amazing place! The staff were incredible and super friendly. Nothing was too difficult for them and always smiling. They checked in with us every time we passed through the lobby. Their northern lights alert is perfect and they help you locate darker areas of town to be able to get a better view. The pub attached is delicious and reasonable priced. Stayed in the junior suite which is in the seperate building and was a great location with a view over the town.

This hotel is situated on the island of Spitsbergen, in Norway’s Arctic Archipelago, Svalbard. It offers stunning views, free WiFi and free afternoon treats. Access to a relaxation area is also free. Overall the hotel has this cosy atmosphere, rooms very simple but very stylish. Heating in the room was perfect. It was also very quiet so it made really easy for me to unwind after a long day spent on tours. The staff is amazing, absolutely doing everything to make the whole experience even better. Special mention to Maggie and Sergey who went above and beyond to make sure that people enjoy their time in the hotel. Breakfast selection is just enough in my opinion, everything is fresh and well prepared.
