This was a favorite stay on our trip. We stayed at many different places during our trip, but my kids liked this place the best. The staff was super friendly, the food was awesome, and the area was so quiet and quaint. There isn't a lot in the town, so if you are looking for shopping this may not be the place for you. We woke up and went for a long walk, the locals were very friendly and helped us find a good route. The inn was comfortable and clean. The restaurant was a surprise, we assumed basic pub food, which was not the case. It was fresh and delicious.

The new owners took an excellent inn and have transformed it into an excellent restaurant with rooms. The food is very good without being unnecessarily elaborate. The staff are friendly and helpful and make you feel like you belong there.

Set amid the stunning Cheviot Hills, Chirnside Hall Hotel is a rural retreat just 15 minutes’ drive from Berwick-upon-Tweed in the Scottish Borders. The staff were incredibly good. I don't think I've ever met anyone as hospitable as the lady who greeted us, and even helped us resolve a problem with some clothes that we were unable to dry in a previous location. She represents everything that is good about the Scottish people: genuine, generous, and really made our stay a pleasure. Without her, it would definitely not have been the same.
