Pakostane is a very calm and friendly village. Not crowded at all. There are some nice restaurants offering excellent food. There are quite a few offerings for excursions around Murter and Kornati and to see some dolphins.

Its a small village with a lot of pebble beaches and pine forests. There're a lot of tourists during summer and everything is crowded, but you can still find a spot on the beach under a pine tree on on some rock. There're a lot of relaxation spots, restaurants and camps. The village almost completely lacks public transport - there's just one bus stop on the Adriatic highway for intercity buses, and it's far from all the beach locations. If you get there without a car, you should be expected to walk a lot on your feet, and you'd notice that most streets don't have sidewalks.

Pakostane was a lovely town and had everything needed for a great holiday. Prices were very reasonable when eating or drinking out and lot's of choice. Great for renting boats/jet skies or wanting to try out water sports.

We were there during peak August season on a busy weekend.
We were there during peak August season on a busy weekend. So the beach was very crowded and not great. It's suppose to be about 80% less crowded during off season. However, if you walk 15 minutes or take a bike, scooter, or car, you can get to some less crowded beach areas. Also if you rent a boat there are plenty of islands and coves to explore. Rather small village but still with enough shops, restaurants, ice cream parlors and night life :). Beaches - small stones, not always well rounded and quite close also big stones inhabited by sea urchins - be careful. We liked it a lot there.JakubCzech Republic

It's well equipped for a relaxed summer vacation with all facilities necessary for us in working order. We are especially grateful for air conditioning and a kitchen with washing machine, utensils and even condiments. The apartment was quite spacious and very clean. Although the water temperature was getting cooler, we managed to use the swimming pool on several occasions. Pakoštane was a perfect location for us, and the holiday Chalet was ideal. We were able to walk down into the little town for dinner and drinks overlooking the beach and the little harbour - perfect!!
