Visit San Marino was a dream plan for us.
We rent a car to rich San Marino from Florence. We had only one night reserved for San Marino. This place is unique. I plan to come back one day to stay longer and enjoy the beauty of this place.

San Marino itself is an amazing place to visit.
San Marino itself is an amazing place to visit. All the historical buildings, steep winding streets of vendors continuing for ages until you reach the top castle embattlements. And you can pick another route down passing more vendors along the way, everything from high end fashion and jewelry to weapons shops. As an Australian, I was shocked that all these guns, knives, machetes, flick knives, spears, high powered bows, arrows, sling shots, crossbows etc. were for open sale. Our laws prevent such sale of deadly weapons but each to their own.

Walking up Mount Titan and visiting the towers was great - a nice escape into a wooded area on a hot day. The old historic centre was lovely, and there appeared to be a couple of good restaurants up there. But otherwise, once you leave the historic centre, but are still up on the hill, it was difficult to find a decent restaurant for dinner that served more than just burgers or sandwiches. I would suggest that San Marino is nice to visit for a couple of hours, explore the historic centre, maybe do some tax-free shopping, but it doesn't require an overnight stay.

San Marino, the capitol and old town of the San Marino...
San Marino, the capitol and old town of the San Marino republic, located on the top of Monte Titano, is a fantastic and tremendously scenic place. In my opinion there are many beautiful and interesting things to see and learn more about just walking around in the old town and visiting the three towers. In addition to the wonderful scenery and the historical sensation, there are numerous museums, shops or restaurants to visit. definitely quite a nice place to go for a short stay.
The only thing I didn't appreciate that much and that I found didn't really fit in this specific environment was the commercial approach with plenty of shops and stalls trying to sell various gadgets and thingies. But ok, everything can't be completely genuine and all that perfect.

After the crowdedness of other European cities San Marino...
After the crowdedness of other European cities San Marino was a haven. This is probably because there is no airport or train station and you really need a car to get there. The mountain and old town are Unesco heritage protected and the views are stunning. We loved visiting the three towers and the Public Palace. Unique boutiques with quality products ( shopping is tax free) and there are some great buys to be had particularly Italian leather bags and jewellery. A picturesque and charming place.
Perfectly located in the heart of San Marino, Titano Suites is an excellent hotel and the staff were VERY! friendly and helpful. The hotel is centrally located and very close to all museums and Palazzo Pubblico and the Basilica of St Marino. We had dinner at the restaurant, which was excellent. We booked a room with a large terrace overlooking the town and had spectacular views sitting on our terrace with a glass of wine. You must get your passport stamped at the stamp and coin museum just steps away for 5 euros.
We traveled around Italy for 2 weeks staying in 5 different places, this was by far our favorite (family of 4). The location and view are amazing but the best part is the host. He makes sure you have everything you need and are always taken care of. In addition, the food is amazing, both breakfast and dinner. We never eat at the same place twice but we had dinner every night at Le Bosche, and it was fantastic every time. And have the wine, he makes it himself. We hope to come back again soon!
Good location, you're quickly in the center of San Marino (City). Parking is free, there is a restaurant adjacent to the hotel, the breakfast is really good. The rooms (at least the one we had) need a little make-over, especially the bathroom. Amazing view until Rimini and the sea. If we ever come back to San Marino, it'll be at this place. Bonus: go for a walk at night, just 2min away you will have the best view at night at the three towers.
exceptional place - hospitable host, made me feel right at home. highest point in San Marino, which means the best views.
very comfortable room, slept really well.
easy access from the bus stop, easy and quick walk to the hotel. very close to all of San Marino’s attractions and walks.
excellent breakfast, really good coffee.
would definitely come back and stay here again.
We were happy with this hotel. We were passing through northern Italy on the way home and wanted a place to stop off for one night and to check out San Marino. This hotel fulfilled that purpose. The room was spacious and the beds were comfortable and the breakfast was OK. We didn't really see or make use of any of the other facilities.
This is the sweetest little inn right in middle of San Marino. The hosts were outstanding and immediately made us feel like family with lots of treats and trinkets. We enjoyed our meal in the restaurant and could reach most of the main sights easily by foot. This hotel was an outstanding value and I highly recommend it to others.
Lovely clean hotel in the centre of San Marino, extremely good value for money compared to most of Italy and San Marino. The room was very nice with a good view. The staff were all very friendly and useful, with a nice bar area downstairs. They also provided a tourist pass for discounts around San Marino.
Hotel is very central for sightseeing the old city. My room was comfortable and had functioning a/c. The centre of San Marino is very expensive so I found this an excellent value. My room was facing the street but the views on the other side of hotel are amazing. You can see them from the stairwell:)
The absolute convenience as a position. Next to a public parking that the hotel can arrange the payment and at the very entry of the east side of the old center. The restaurant is amazing and the food was delicious
A very good reason to return to San Marino
The staff were helpful and friendly. Location is superb with amazing view of surrounding countryside. Terrazzo restaurant had good food and views. Hotel courtesy cart was a life saver getting our luggage from car to hotel up steep hill.
Very close to the bus station which is important to not have to drag luggage up the hills of San Marino. Offer a discount for dining at the restaurant downstairs. Lent us glasses and a corkscrew so we could have drinks on the balcony.
A true “home from home” experience in a beautiful property. It is in a perfect location to explore the city of San Marino. The breakfast was better than a 5* hotel would offer and the room we stayed in (with the balcony) was perfect.
Location right in the heart of San Marino, you can walk everywhere and there are restaurants nearby - except an uphill walk and/or several stairs, tho. Comfortable room and big enough for three people.
A nice hotel with good breakfast at a fantastic location in the historic center of San Marino. Parking our car was easy in the public parking lots nearby (P6 or P7).
Excellent location in the heart of San Marino. The room is absolutely gorgeous. Panoramic windows in the bedrooms and the shower. The stay you will never forget.
San Marino is an amazing place to visit. The La Grotta Hotel is in a great location the rooms where clean a nice size. Staff was accomodating and friendly.
Charming hotel in quiet town, perfect base to explore San Marino! The room was quite spacious and comfortable. The staff was incredibly friendly and helpful.
