The position of the hotel meant that the view was gorgeous. It was very chilled there and we met lots of very happy guests. You can hire a sauna spot on the fjordside and jump in after! Very cheery, friendly and helpful staff and they gave us linked rooms so we could all be together which was great. Breakfast was very good and looking out over the fjord a wonderful experience... !!

Ulvik is a jewel that we really discovered by chance.
Ulvik is a jewel that we really discovered by chance. Two nights was simply not enough. We met the most amazing and friendly people. The staff in the tourist information shop were so good. They were locals and knew the social and cultural history. An amazing stay. Strand Hotel staff were super helpful.

The view from the room was fantastic however there was no AC in the room which is common in Norway. I rented bicycles and Kayaks from a store which was five minute walk away from the hotel. We would've stayed an extra day if we'd known. Even now, we're thinking to return from the US next year and spend more time. The view was gorgeous from our fjord-facing room with balcony.
