The location is great and the hotel is the cheapest in the area. There is a bus station right outside. The room was clean and specious. We were able to leave our luggage there after check out till it was time for our flight. Basically you get what you paid for and that's fair.

Traffic congestion due to narrow roads.
Traffic congestion due to narrow roads. A lot of construction. Beautiful sights. A lot to do. Many forts and churches. Multiple boat ride options. Hoop off hoop on was very affordable and worked well. Cab availability was great and most expensive fare was $30.00, usually about $20.00/ trip. Many restaurants were within walking distance, (less than 1 mile.). Beautiful city, no crime, a lot to see. Felt safe everywhere.

Very good public transport network included ferries to Valetta. If you would like to experience the culture then you would be in for a huge disappointment. It seemed to me that Maltese nation totally abandoned their culture in favour to tourism.

Sliema is handy for ferry to Valletta and is walkable to St Julian. It is a Marina type resort, not a sea side resort. Restaurants ok, not especially fancy. I liked Malta a lot but would recommend stopping in Valletta rather than Sliema.

For us a perfect place to stay, regarding how much more expensive is staying in Valetta. Especially the spot that faces to St. Julian's provides epic view as soon as you get to the promenade. Be aware that the ferries to Valetta don't work when it's windy, so you'll have to take a bus. The buses to Valetta are almost always crowded and sometimes they don't board (we had to miss a couple) but you'll get there eventually.

Sliema is like most of Malta's area's, a busy lively place during the day. At night the traffic does quieten down a bit, but you have more people walking around the harbour, bars and restaurant's. Our choice was the Cafe Sicilia, but the choice you have you could choose a different one every night. The ferry to Valletta is convenient and on our visit 3 euros per person so not expensive. Walking round the harbour in the evening is a nice relaxing walk. Like many places in Malta, there is a lot of building work going on, so there is some delays and disruption at the moment. But that is soon forgotten once past it. We think it's a great place to stay for couples or a family, easy for Valetta or anywhere in Malta.

Sliema is like the poor relation to St Julians and Valetta.
Sliema is like the poor relation to St Julians and Valetta. It is dirty, lacks atmosphere and is rather boring. There is so much construction work going on , cranes and diggers are everywhere. There is also too much litter.
The restaurants were more expensive than Valetta and the shops close early so there isn't the buzz at night that St Julians has. Great for getting to other places but wouldn't stay there again.
Nice boutique hotel in a tipical Maltese house, very conveniently located in Sliema (in a quiet street, but close to cafes, restaurants and the Sliema ferry terminal).
Our room was not huge, but tidy and confortable, with a very confortable bed and many useful items (tea kettle, hairdryer, extra blankets, safe). The cleaning service was outstanding, and all the personell has been very kind and helpful. We asked for a plug adapter before arriving, and it was ready for us when we checked in :-)
Keith (The owner) was very friendly and welcoming, he helped out by all mean to make his guest me feel comfortable and did his best to let me enjoy my stay.
The room is clean, the hotel is simple and very central, close to sliema Promenade and all accommodations are by walking around the corner.
The staff is nice and helpful
I absolutely recommend it and will be happy to comback again
Thanks Keith
I loved the hotel staff esp Mario who paid attention to details and was ready to help whenever we asked. The location is lovely, we loved our room as well. If we were to ever visit Sliema again, we will definitely stay here again. Not forgetting the Lebanese restaurant downstairs (Beirut Bay) which has the best food ever and super friendly staff. I loved everything about The Exiles Hotel 😊
Best breakfast I had in a hotel in Malta. a variety of everything, granola, croissants and omelette. Everything in a good quality. The location is perfect, close to the sea and all shopping possibilities in Sliema. The beds are comfortable and the design is great, but the best thing about the hotel are the employees ! Really helpful and interested your well being. Thanks for that
The hotel is at the perfect location in Sliema, just a few minutes walking distances from the boat to Valetta or the bus stop. Very clean and comfortable rooms and beds, modern bathroom. My room was on the top floor with a large terrace. Breakfast was good with a standard choice of food. Definitely will choose Mr Todd Hotel with my next visit to Malta.
Everything was to my satisfaction. The hotel has a great location in Sliema, the room was large, comfortable and very clean. I was very satisfied with the treatment I had at the spa centre. Staff at the reception were very helpful, providing good advice and answering a variety of questions. I highly recommend this hotel.
Absolutely beautiful hostel in an amazing location in Sliema, steps away from the promenade.
The girls at reception were very hospitable, welcoming, and helpful.
The interior design of the hostel was really nice, the dorms were spacious.
Bed and pillows were very comfortable.
Would definitely stay here again.
Staff, breakfast, location is perfect.
For a small fee they even put a third bed in our room, so our friend could stay with us for cheap money.
They have a pool across the street which is nice and spacious. It's free for hotel guests.
Gym, indoor pool, rooftop bar and breakfast restaurant were all very good.
Good sized room, comfortable bed and clean bathroom, with everything we needed for a 3 night stay. A cozy and very pleasant atmosphere throughout the hotel.
Thank you - reception, bar lounge, restaurant, cleaning staff. You all contributed to our very nice stay in Sliema. We really appreciate it.
Comfortable room in a very central location on Sliema waterfront. Hotel staff were friendly in providing guidance on SIM cards, restaurants and activities. My room was towards the back and did not have a balcony nor was facing the sea, thus making it very quiet (which I preferred).
Excellent in every way. We booked bed and breakfast but ate in the hotel every evening as it was a fair walk down to the harbour ( and then up hill after eating) and the food was excellent so I would recommend booking half board. Staff excellent and very helpful. A lovely stay.
Great location, near restaurants, Sliema is pretty, nice promenade, 15 min away by ferry from Valetta or 15 min by taxi.
The hotel has a large room and bathroom, a comfortable bed, nice lobby, good breakfast. The view was very beautiful. The reception was friendly.
one of the best hotels we’ve ever been!
the facilities are very clean and comfortable, the location is great.
the best thing is the staff!! so kind, generous, sensitive to our stay, extraordinary service providers. the best! thank you so much for everything ❤️
The hotel has the best location in Sliema, supper convenient to go to Valetta. Rooms were clean. The sea view is worth paying extra. All the stuff was extremely helpful and nice. Special thanks to the nice Elena for helping to change room for the sea view. :)
Room 206. Both beds were 5 star comfort.
View from balcony.
Breakfast included.
The bar and grill next to the restaurant is fantastic. We stayed at hotel 3 nights and ate at the restaurant 3 nights. The food, drinks and service was excellent.
Location. It's a pretty house of character very central, close to the strand, Sliema near lots of cafes, restaurant and shopping centers. Also very close to the beaches: Balluta Bay and Sliema promenade. Staff were very friendly.
Staff was excellent, from breakfast to frontdesk. Hotel totally modern, while respecting historic exterior. Breakfast with focus on local specialities, best on our trip. Try out rooftop rooms with jacuzzi, excellent!!!
