The Villa is beautifully and very tastefully designed. The Hosts were very warm to receive us and also came to see us off. All the facilities were minutely taken care off. The amenities and the material used including linen and toiletries were of high quality. The art effects were appropriately placed. The location and view were just amazing.

Very friendly & helpful staff. Had a beautifully cooked evening meal there, in the impressive restaurant / reception area.

There are 2 Reyhkolts in Iceland and this is the more westerly one (the other is on the Golden Circle to the south). We visited Vidgelmir, the lava tube, and it was fabulous! It's cold inside so dress warmly. The guides were all geologists who specialize in this kind of formation and were knowledgeable about both geology and the history of the tube. Krauma geothermal baths and restaurant: the baths were expensive and we didn't go but the restaurant served great food (also expensive as is all food in Iceland).

The view from the breakfast room was breathtaking. The breakfast buffet was filling. There was oatmeal, cereal, some fruit and veg, bread, cheese, coldcuts, jams, tea, coffee, juice. (I also really appreciated that the hotel began breakfast 1/2 an hour early due to a number of guests (including our family) who had booked early morning tours in the area.)

Amazing location for a quiet, resourceful stay, which was exactly what we were looking for. You need to rent a car if you're going to stay there, but if you do, it's a great place to stay and explore the western part of Iceland.
