thought we would just use this as a base to tour the area, but when we got there, we stayed for 2 days and never left the central city. This town is adorable, very historic and has a great market and central square. I have to say we didn't venture out until we were leaving but had a wonderful time sitting around and just watching the world go by.

Brilliant little market town, with a fine cathedral, several weekly and special-occasion markets, excellent choice of family-friendly cafés and restaurants. The riverside paths offer shade and plenty of places to swim and cycle, and the 'voie verte' is excellent to the pretty nearby village of Camon. Don't miss the Monday morning market (c.8am-2pm).
An excellent base for exploring Ariège and the Midi-Pyrenées.

A truly stunning ancient town market square, well worth a visit. Stay the night before to have aperitifs and hors d‘oeuvres in the stunning ancient large market square. The charcuterie in the region is a speciality. Lovely duck salamis. Stay on a Sunday night and rise early for the famous and superb Monday market, the perfect place to buy local produce, vegetables, fresh apricots and peaches and salad along with local Pyrenean salami for our upcoming self catering accomodation in nearby Carcassonne which we were visiting to see the Bastille day exceptional firework display on 14 th July. The biggest display in France. Nice creperie and ice cream parlour as well as more traditional restaurants available in the old market square which was buzzing and a great photo opportunity. Make time to visit the Cathedral and admire the pretty stained glass windows. Ideal for escaping the buzz and cooling down.
The property is a quintessential family-run French hotel located in the center of Mirepoix next to the Mirepoix Monday market and the church. It is dated but that is part of the charm. Breakfast is simple but adequatehowever the hotel restaurant served an exquisite dinner and the patio we dined in was delightful. The servers were efficient, friendly and accommodating. No doubt in my mind we selected a great place to stay to relish in French culture. It was easy to get to Carcassonne for an afternoon allowing us to return for dinner!
The hotel was lovely & was right in the center looking down upon the historic square & merry-go-round! The sheets & bed were very comfortable & the room was a nice size. I was particularly appreciative of the jacuzzi style tub after we had spent the day hiking. For breakfast, the restaurant had multiple places to sit, we preferred the inner courtyard with interesting photos and objects, the coffee drinks were excellent with the pastries with confits and the fresh made orange juice an extra delight. Our hosts were the best!
Our host and hostess were hospitable, welcoming and attentive. They showed us around and made sure we had everything we needed. They were a delight to meet and spend time with. Our apartment was impeccable, beautifully furnished, and had everything we needed. Our hosts were able to direct us to eateries, supermarkets, and local sights in and around Mirepoix. The pool was perfect during the heatwave and the apartment was air conditioned. We would have loved to have been able to stay longer. We will definitely come back.
Restored old town house on three floors. Characterful with plenty of space for two and well-equipped for self catering, which is perfect for us. Perfect location just 100m from Mirepoix’s fabulous market square with its shops, bars, restaurants, cathedral and busy Monday market. But also quiet and with everything you need almost literally on the doorstep (baker, butcher, grocer, fishmonger, pharmacy and mini supermarket all within a minute’s walk). Next door to an excellent fromagerie!
The hotel is fantastic! Right up front it’s a bit hard to find. Park your car at the church, cross the square and it’s about half way up. Bernard, the owner spoke perfect English and took us to the parking garage. Lovely room with view of church and square definitely upgrade if possible. We were there for the famous Monday market. That morning we woke up to the square etc full of 100 stalls, didn’t hear any of the work it must have taken to set them up. Would recommend!!
This place is the greatest!!! The location is perfect, about a 5 minute 2 block walk into the center of Mirepoix. The hotel is quite small but so clean and nice. The hostess didn't speak any English and we speak no French, but communication was not a problem. Loved the pool and hammam! We had been traveling for a week, so decided to just relax and enjoy this beautiful town and hotel. I will be back if ever in the area again.
Beautiful hotel and room in very central location 2 mins from medieval centre. Free parking on street outside.
Staff very welcoming, friendly & helpful. Very nice food could highly recommend the taster menu with accompanying wine. All around a fantastic treat/stay.
I was expecting small and awkward, but the room was large and open! plenty of room for both bed bath and shower facilities.. the room also had access to an out door patio that we were not expecting but was very welcome.. hotel very easy to find. pleasant staff.
Wonderful space to stay in, and located right at the centre of Mirepoix, which is a great place to be! Amazing historic centre, as well as a good base to explore this part of France
Great little apartment for a short stay in Mirepoix. Owner was friendly. And the space was really well thought out and had all the facilities you need for an overnight stay.
Great location for visitors to Mirepoix. English host very welcoming. Great size of apartment although one had to go through second bedroom to reach loo.
