Saranda is a nice town with a beach and walks.
Saranda is a nice town with a beach and walks. There are nice restaurants on the promenade and also dotted around. The people are very friendly. Due to ongoing maintenance work on footpaths it may not be easy for people with mobility issues to get around - missing stones, uneven surfaces and high steps on parts. There's a limited bus service locally ksamil and butrint and 1 to gjirokastel but last return is 1.45pm. this may change in high season and as tourism picks up. There are plenty taxis available.

A perfect town for relaxing, and walks in the sunset on the promenade or a drink on the fort, overlooking the town. Also, the Butrint National Park offers a few or more hours of walking through the laurel and olive woods, where history can be discovered at your own pace while having a picnic on the provided wooden benches and tables. For beach lovers, Saranda offers plenty of beaches, and 20 minutes from Saranda, you can also visit Ksamil, with turquoise water.MarjanMontenegro - 10Scored 10

Lovely atmosphere. The promenade was great to walk along, especially in the evening. Family friendly with lots of restaurants, bars and opportunities to book boat trips to other parts of the coast. Also close by to other attractions.

The views, the beach, the food! Taking a walk at the city center at night was fun. Lots of nice restaurants and street food! I’d recommend getting a taxi or driver take you around or rent a car for yourself. I had the best sea food here. The sunset at the castle on the mountain is the absolute best. Sarandë has a beautiful view of the Ionian Sea, and there are lots of fun things to do in the city; shop, eat, drink. But it is a crowded city, driving is crazy, parking is even crazier, and unfortunately for Albania, there is trash everywhere. (Trash is a nation wide problem in Albania, not just in Sarandë)

Our room had a huge balcony, overlooking the Saranda bay, with the magical sunset. The hotel also has one of the best rooftop bars, where you can enjoy great cocktails with a sea view. Breakfast was great, rooms clean and cozy. Special thanks to the manager and hotel owner, as well as the Illyrian hotel team, who made my stay fantastic! Hope to see you all very soon!

Even though in the winter season my family was the only one guest of the hotel, he personally prepared breakfast for us. He also allowed us to leave our car on the dedicated parking space for several day, and kept an eye on that. I would definitely recommend staying in the hotel. Next time in Saranda we will stay there for sure.
