Two full days is plenty of time to explore Berat. The castle is worth a visit maybe a taxi up and walk down as its very steep. The two bridges are nice to walk over and the view at night is wonderful. A nice reasonable restaurant is Friendly House the restaurant is upstairs and looks out over the river.

Berat is definitely on of the cool city on my list.
Berat is definitely on of the cool city on my list. It will be great to hire a tour guide for the explanation and exploration around the old castle area. Based on the local suggestion, every year, there is an event called epiphany on Jan 6. It will be super good if you can witness this wonderful event.

Was very underwhelmed by Berat.
Was very underwhelmed by Berat. One big building site and litter everywhere. View is alright but nothing special. Not much to do. The property is absolutely beautiful and the staff/owners are very friendly and professional. We liked it so much we decided to stay an extra day. Located within the Castle Berat walls, this hotel has amazing views of Berat - especially at night. Very comfortable bed and spacious, spa-like shower. We ate in the restaurant below and it was very good and the staff super nice. It was the best stay we had during our 2-week trip through the area!

They offered us cold juice when we arrived and prepared delicious homemade breakfasts on the balcony. We really felt like we were welcome there. The room and the bathroom are spacious and everything is extra clean. It's very close to the main promenade, maybe 5 minutes walk to centre of Berat full of restaurants and bars. We hope to come back next time we visit Albania and Berat, most beautyful town we have ever seen!

The house has four rooms for guests, which gives is a cozy and personal feel. When we visited we were the only guests so we got the whole place to ourselves. The property owner was one of the most welcoming men we had met and went out of his way to make sure we have everything we need and beyond!
